These Elusive Words Will Be My Bane

I try my hardest to write the masterpiece
but it eludes me
constantly.

I try so hard to write words that won't die
but the good ones are lies,
they just get by.

I try but I fail to write decent stuff.
Is enough enough?
Should poetry be tough?

I fail but I'll never stop trying to write
even if it's not right
I'll continue to write.


I have to if I ever want to become the pope.
